In the near future, both institutions will sign the agreement that will govern the actions to be carried out.
Zona Franca will commission the project of this innovative environmental action
The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Zone, Jorge Ramos, accompanied by technicians and directors of the Consortium, met today with the mayor of Castellar de la Frontera, Juan Casanova, who was also accompanied by members of the local Government and the technical team of the Consistory.
The meeting represents a boost in the development of the Aquaponia environmental project that both institutions are going to develop on the land located in La Almoraima, which was transferred to the City Council by the Ministry of Agriculture and which totals 24 hectares.
In the line of work and collaboration between institutions that the Free Zone carries out, Jorge Ramos and Juan Casanova have already held various meetings throughout this year and in the near future they will sign an agreement that will govern the activities to be carried out in the municipality, productive initiatives linked to the environment.
The Cádiz Free Trade Zone will soon commission the project of this innovative initiative, which consists of producing vegetables and fish in the same cycle in an ecological way, taking advantage of the resources available. It so happens that in Spain there is currently no installation of these characteristics.
Furthermore, the main advantage of the use of this system for the cultivation and development of food is the reduction in the use of fertilizers and pollutants in the environment, which is why it is perfectly suitable for this area of La Almoraima because it is totally ecological and careful with the environment.
The implementation of this joint project can become the starting point for another series of actions that affect the sustainable development of the Campo-Gibraltar municipality, safeguarding its environmental heritage through sustainable but at the same time effective development for society.
