The delegate of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, has supervised this week the completion of the adaptation works of the offices that the company Alestis will occupy in the building attached to the 13,500 m warehouse.2 that will house the logistics center and the works that have demolished part of the fence that separates the Free Trade Zone from the old Altadis.

The work on the offices, which was put out to tender in mid-May and amounted to 104,347.76 euros (VAT not included), was completed on time and modernized and adapted some 300 m rooms.2 that were obsolete due to the passage of time. Specifically, a furnished administrative room has been set up for 20 workstations, a meeting room, an office and toilets and changing rooms, in addition to being equipped with the necessary telecommunications.

In parallel, the works have been completed - also tendered in May and with an amount of 87,743.51 euros (VAT not included) - that have carried out the physical integration of the Altadis lands with the Free Trade Zone, with the demolition of part of the fence that separates them, which also facilitates road access to the aforementioned lands.

The completion of these works will enable the start of the activity in the Free Trade Zone of the aeronautical company in August, with the completion on July 31 of the I phase of the adaptation works of the warehouse that will house the Alestis Logistics Center, of 13,500 m2, where it will concentrate the three facilities that it currently has dispersed in Seville and Cádiz.

With Alestis there will now be three companies installed on the land of the former tobacco factory and which already make up the Cádiz tax area, which has grown to 330,000 m2 at almost 500,000 m2 of surface with all the customs and fiscal advantages inherent to the Free Zone.

The expansion of the tax area has been the result of an intense and complex processing process, starting from the decision to expand and expand the Free Trade Zone in Cádiz and the province and once the Consortium acquired the land from the former tobacco company in June 2015.

With all this, the Cádiz tax area has become an important business and industrial focus for attracting investments to the Bay, providing new productive spaces with customs and tax advantages to favor the establishment of new companies.
