Free Trade Zone and Algeciras City Council will build new lanes for traffic exams in La Menacha

The Consortium will send the Consistory the agreement in the coming days, which will define the details of this action, which would contemplate the use of this space as parking on match days

Zona Franca will also sign an agreement with the Association of Driving Schools of Campo de Gibraltar to regulate the uses

Technicians from both institutions will begin working on the project next week in order to shortly put out to tender the work, which has a completion period of 4 months and an investment of 500,000 euros.

The delegate of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce, yesterday visited the land located in front of the soccer field in La Menacha, in Algeciras, where they will build new tracks to carry out traffic exams at the regional level, a very necessary project for the entire area.

To materialize this action, which will be carried out on an area of ​​10,000 m2, the Cádiz Consortium and the Linse City Council will sign an agreement that will include the details that will allow the project to be undertaken and which will be sent to the City Council in the coming days for its supervision.

At the same time, Zona Franca will draw up another agreement to be signed with the Campo de Gibraltar Driving Schools Association to regulate the uses of these spaces, since their use is expected to be used as vehicle parking on match days.

At the same time, technicians from both institutions will meet next week to analyze the details of the project, which has an investment of 500,000 euros, and define the terms that will allow the works to be put out to tender, which will have an execution period of 4 months, as soon as possible.

Jorge Ramos was satisfied with this new form of collaboration between Zona Franca and Algeciras City Council, in the line of work of the Cádiz Consortium that is committed to loyalty and collaboration between institutions to carry out projects to benefit the socioeconomic fabric.

The Free Trade Zone delegate pointed out that this is a very necessary action for the city of Algeciras and one that has been worked on for a long time and assured that the tracks will be finished for the next Fair.

The strong commitment of the Free Zone to the Campo de Campo de Gibraltar has materialized in several projects in different municipalities of the Region, with a total investment between 2012 and 2016 of 68 million euros, and is a fundamental part of the project to expand the Free Zone throughout the province, with spaces in El Fresno, in Los Barrios; Cortijo Real, in Algeciras; and in La Línea.
