This action has the objective of achieving permeability and truck traffic between the plot of the old tobacco factory and the Free Trade Zone.
The Free Zone of Cádiz has awarded the company Construcciones Francisco Manzano SL the works for the demolition of part of the fence that separates the Free Zone from the old Altadis, for an award amount of 87,743.51 euros (VAT not included), which represents a 20% reduction compared to the tender budget which amounted to 109,679.39 euros (VAT not included).
The works, which were put out to tender on May 12 and for which eight companies have opted, have begun this week - the Consortium has already requested the corresponding works license - and have a completion period of one and a half months.
The works represent the beginning of the physical integration of the Altadis lands into the Free Trade Zone, once they are already officially incorporated into the tax precinct following authorization by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations last March.
The purpose of the works is to achieve permeability and traffic between the plot of the old tobacco factory and the Free Trade Zone, with the demolition of part of the fence that separates both spaces. This will also enable the entry and exit of trucks, which is necessary for the activity to be carried out by future users of the facilities. In addition, roads will be reconditioned and the access speed bump will be eliminated.
With this work, Zona Franca advances in phase I of the procedures to carry out the expansion of its facilities in Cádiz, where it has formed an important business and industrial focus with 486,881 m2, with the addition of 156,881 m2 at 330,000 m2 that made up its historic customs facility. Subsequently, the perimeter fence will be completed, the connection of supplies to the Consortium network, the evacuation network and the surveillance system, among others, will be addressed.
