Students of the Administrative Management cycle of the Salesiano San Ignacio de Cádiz school visit the Free Trade Zone

The group learned first-hand about the work of the Consortium and visited the Heracles and Melkart company buildings, the Business Center of the Europa building and the Andalusian Documentary Services (SDA) company.

A group of 22 students from the Administrative Management cycle of the Salesiano San Ignacio de Cádiz school visited the facilities of the Free Trade Zone in Cádiz on Wednesday, within the Consortium's open doors program to make citizens aware of its work and that of the companies installed in its Interior Campus.

The day began in the auditorium of the Heracles Building, where the Customs expert, Francisco Piñero, offered a talk about the present and the projects in which the Cádiz Institution is immersed, as well as an approach to logistics and foreign trade, after which a short video was shown with the history and activity of the Free Trade Zone in its more than 85 years of existence.

After visiting the Melkart building, the group took a walking tour of the tax premises – scale, Atlas building, Harinera Vilafranquina, paddle tennis courts, among others – until reaching the Europa building where the students and teachers visited the Business Center on the 3rd and 4th floors. One of the Center's managers guided them through the training and coworking rooms, one of the services that is most popular among young entrepreneurs in the capital.

Subsequently, the facilities of the Andalusian Documentary Services (SDA) were visited, where the work and details of this file management, digitization, document custody, and destruction service were shown, which in addition to the Cádiz headquarters is also located in Seville and Algeciras.

Finally, students and professor ended their visit in the Plenary Hall of the Institution, where they were received by the Special Delegate of the State, Jorge Ramos, who was accompanied by the president of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Cádiz (AJE), Jesús Belgrano. Jorge Ramos thanked them for their interest in the Consortium and encouraged them to count on the collaboration of the Institution once they begin their professional career, while urging them to delve deeper into everything related to international trade through the day-to-day life of the Free Zone in future visits.

The guided tour program, launched by the Free Trade Zone in 2013, has as its main objective to make the Institution known to Cádiz society and, specifically, to young people, who are involved in the activity and projects that are being carried out.
