The investment in the works of the Tiro Janer Commercial and Business Park in San Fernando will exceed six million euros
Yesterday morning, the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz sent a letter to the Ministry of Culture with the definitive report of the archaeological work carried out on the Tiro Janer plot in San Fernando and which has concluded with the recovery and transfer of the archaeological remains. found at the Consortium's premises, having been kept in provisional storage awaiting a more suitable place for their exhibition. Specifically, the cataloged remains correspond to eight ovens, three groups of amphorae and up to 45 burials, initially dated between the 1st and 3rd centuries BC.
In the same document and, in accordance with the requirements demanded by the Ministry itself in a report sent to Zona Franca in November 2015, the Consortium requests information regarding the steps to follow regarding archaeological precautions on the plot where it will be develop the Commercial and Business Park with the aim of being able to open the procedure that will allow the bidding for urbanization works to begin in the coming weeks.
For this reason, Zona Franca is streamlining the procedures and urges the Autonomous Administration to inform regarding the last mandatory step to initiate said procedure, which is none other than the Archaeological Control of earth movements when the works are going to be carried out, for which The pertinent authorizations must be processed before the Ministry itself.
With this, the Cádiz Consortium completes the administrative procedures prior to the opening of the procedure to tender the urbanization works, which is expected to be carried out before the summer, so they could be completed before the end of the year.
This action represents an investment of 6.2 million euros, of which some 600,000 euros correspond to the archaeological intervention that has been carried out, while the urbanization works themselves will cost 4.2 million euros and The rest, 1.4 million, will be reserved to meet the cost of the electrical demand expected with the entry into operation of the future commercial and business park, which will also be supplied by the electrical substation planned there (it will make use of 8 of the 28 megawatts of capacity that the new facilities will have, according to Zona Franca calculations).
It should be remembered that Zona Franca purchased the old Janer Shooting Range from the Ministry of Defense in 2013 and since then the Consortium has carried out intense work that began with the demolition of the old facilities. Subsequently, the important archaeological finds and the meticulous work by the experts slowed down the process.
