The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Cádiz, José María González, visited this morning the facilities of the new Business Center that the Free Trade Zone has carried out inside the Cádiz Casino.
Jorge Ramos and José María González also checked the progress of the works of the II phase of the action, which began two weeks ago and will adapt obsolete spaces and facilities to adapt them to the Business Center, focusing a large part of the work on the central patio.
The first councilor from Cádiz, who received the explanations from the Free Trade Zone technicians and the State delegate, was able to verify the intense activity in the Business Center facilities, which have 100% occupancy in offices and coworking rooms, with companies belonging to diverse sectors and ranging from companies related to leisure and hospitality to business entities.
During the tour, both Ramos and González agreed in praising the quality of the facilities and having known how to combine tradition and modernity in an emblematic building.
Following an agreement signed between Zona Franca and the Cádiz City Council in July 2014, the Consortium began work on the Cádiz Casino last year, awarding the work in February to REM Servicios Integrales for an amount of 183,205.21 euros. The work consisted of remodeling the interior of this historic building in order to modernize its infrastructure and provide the building with a Business Center along the lines of those that the Consortium has in municipalities throughout the province, composed of 7 offices and 16 coworking positions.
The facilities, which have been very well received since they were put on the market, offer added services that include counseling, cleaning, internet, electricity consumption and air conditioning, among others. In addition, users can opt for other services of the Free Zone Business Centers, such as a training classroom and meeting room.
With its Business Center in the Cádiz Casino, the Cadiz Free Zone has made it possible for an emblematic building with great artistic value to house quality business facilities in a completely renovated environment, maintaining the elements that justify the protection of the building due to its historical value, thus fulfilling the objective of promoting the socioeconomic development of its area of influence for which the Free Zone was created.
This second phase underway, which has an amount of 118,997.07 euros (VAT not included), will centralize a large part of the action in the central patio of the building, where rehabilitation work is necessary for its conservation and where the cleaning, consolidation and chromatic reintegration of this area of the Cádiz Casino will be carried out, following the guidelines of restoration experts, who have carried out a study detailed, establishing criteria for intervention in the property taking into account its historical, artistic, architectural and sociological value. In addition, other improvement works will be carried out in the toilet area on the mezzanine, painting and pavement repair work in common spaces and other improvements that make up the complex.
Zona Franca has invested more than 329,500 euros (VAT not included) in this facility in the heart of the Cadiz capital, since the two phases of the adaptation work must be added to the furniture of the Business Center, worth 22,146.02 euros, and the supply and placement of lighting, curtains, etc., for the amount of 8,308.20 euros (VAT not included). including).
