The business incubator of the CEEI Bahía de Cádiz Foundation, located in warehouse 28 of the group of warehouses promoted by Zona Franca in the Villa de Rota industrial estate, was inaugurated this morning, once the works to adapt the facilities, which were raw, as a business center, were completed in recent days.
The event, to which the Special Delegate of the State in the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, excused his attendance due to a temporary indisposition of no serious nature but which did not allow him to attend, was attended by the president of the CEEI, Miguel Urraca; the mayor of Rota, José Javier Ruiz; and on behalf of the Free Trade Zone, the General Technical Coordinator, Ignacio Díaz Rodríguez-Valdés, as well as other authorities.
Once the commemorative plaque was unveiled, the General Technical Coordinator of the Free Zone expressed his recognition “to the Rota Corporation, present and past, and especially to the previous mayor, Eva Corrales, and her deputy mayor, Lorenzo Sánchez, who have been very important architects of the achievement that we have the honor of inaugurating at this time.”
Ignacio Díaz highlighted that this new equipment reinforces Zona Franca's commitment to providing the province with business and industrial spaces that strengthen small and medium-sized businesses and, in this way, generate economic activity and create new jobs. Furthermore, for the General Technical Coordinator of the Free Trade Zone, the set of nest ships is the best reflection that the Consortium "did its homework in a difficult scenario and today we see the fruits of that hard and constant work to develop quality infrastructure to improve the business fabric."
The president of the CEEI thanked Zona Franca for the loyalty and institutional collaboration that have made it possible for the Foundation's new incubator to see the light and fulfill the fundamental objective of hosting entrepreneurs and liberal professionals who begin their activity in very advantageous conditions, generating economic activity and employment in the city.
For his part, the mayor congratulated the Cádiz Consortium and the CEEI for their performance, recognizing the important work of both institutions and their commitment to Rota.
The opening ceremony ended with a tour of the new facilities, whose works began last November, and have culminated in converting a raw warehouse into a CEEI nursery with an area of 565 m2, distributed on the ground and first floors, with a total of 21 offices measuring between 9.49 m2 y 30 m2.
Specifically, 13 offices have been fitted out on the ground floor with measurements from 9 m2 up to 30m2, while the first floor houses a total of 8 offices of between 11 m2 a 23 m2, versatile spaces that adapt to the different needs of the business community. In addition, the center will offer services and use of infrastructure complementary to accommodation such as meeting rooms and a training room, as well as the implementation of the services from the CEEI Foundation catalog in the town of Rota.
It should be remembered that Zona Franca awarded the works at the end of October to Construcciones Manzano S.L for an amount of 275,830.41 euros (VAT not included). A total of 5 companies opted for the work, which has been co-financed by funds requested in the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013.
Nest Ship Set
The CEEI nursery is an example that the project for a set of nesting warehouses in Rota carried out by Zona Franca is having a very good response from the Rota business community.
Thus, this action, which was born in 2013 with the signing of a collaboration agreement with the City Council and which had the collaboration of the Government of Spain through the Reindus Funds, is 72% marketed, 20 of its 28 warehouses have been awarded and are in the process of being delivered to their owners, so it is expected that the businesses will begin operating shortly.
The warehouses, which have an opening license, will house companies from various sectors such as goldsmithing, frozen fish distribution, fruit wholesaler, security, construction, telephony, artistic activities and solar panels, among others.
