The entity occupies three buildings of the Consortium in Puerto Real, where it has its logistics center from which it provides food collection, storage and distribution services to municipalities in the province
Jorge Ramos and the president of the Spanish Red Cross in Cádiz, Concepción García, have addressed the space needs to convert Bajo de La Cabezuela into the large logistics center of the Spanish Red Cross in the Province
The 1,800 m2 that they currently occupy are clearly insufficient, as the State delegate has been able to verify during his visit.
This non-profit institution benefits from the bonuses that the Free Zone has for carrying out a purpose of public utility.
The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, accompanied by several technicians from the Consortium and officials from the Spanish Red Cross in Cádiz, visited this morning the facilities that the Spanish Red Cross has in Bajo de La Cabezuela in Puerto Real. Jorge Ramos took a tour of the center, received explanations from the representatives of the entity and discussed with the president of the entity in Cádiz, Concepción García, the space needs in order to convert Bajo de La Cabezuela into the large logistics center of the Spanish Red Cross in the province.
The Spanish Red Cross occupies three warehouses in the complex that the Free Zone has in this industrial zone of Puerto Real, benefiting from the bonuses approved by the Executive Committee and that the Consortium offers to those entities declared of public utility, or that allocate the space to the realization of purposes of public utility or social interest, or associations that, without profit, provide services to entrepreneurs or companies.
The Spanish Red Cross has its logistics center in La Cabezuela, which occupies warehouses B-9, B-10 and B-5, with a current area of 1,800 m2 that could be expanded shortly due to the entity's space needs, as Jorge Ramos was able to see on his tour. From this point the collection, storage and distribution of food is carried out throughout the province.
Specifically, in the Bajo de la Cabezuela logistics center, the reception and distribution of food destined for different groups is centralized, as well as its classification, storage and distribution according to demand. The strategic location of this industrial area, now better connected thanks to the second bridge, makes the location unbeatable for the Spanish Red Cross, especially in distribution work.
The Free Zone traditionally collaborates with this type of entities dedicated to social purposes and in fact there are lines of collaboration, in addition to the Spanish Red Cross, with other associations or entities such as the Food Bank, also located in Bajo de La Cabezuela, Cáritas, ADACCA or Autismo Cádiz, since we must not forget that the social work of the Consortium is included in its Statutes in the description of its objectives: the socioeconomic development of its area of influence.
