The mayor of La Línea de la Concepción, Juan Franco, held a meeting this morning with the special delegate of the Free Trade Zone in Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, who was accompanied by technicians from the Cádiz Institution. The deputy mayor Nacho Macías and the councilor and municipal delegate for Impulse and Urban Development, Juan Carlos Valenzuela, as well as municipal technicians, also participated in the meeting.
The content of the meeting has revolved around the construction of the Business Center on the Plaza Nueva plot, specifically to analyze the existence of certain urban planning problems that require a detailed study for its development, in which the occupation of spaces is determined on the one hand and, on the other, the height that the building would have. After today's meeting, there are two options on the table and it is being assessed which of them would be the most advantageous for both the Free Trade Zone and the city.
The mayor has announced that in the coming days a meeting will be held with Urban Planning officials from the Junta de Andalucía and it will be from that moment on that a final decision will be adopted, which will entail carrying out the relevant administrative procedure for the construction of the Business Center.
Regarding the existing problem due to the presence on the plot of some historical facilities (bunkers), cataloged as Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), it seems to be solved and there is already a Culture report in which the requirement to safeguard a strip is established to enhance its value.
In reality, what is being determined now is the appearance that the building will have and, above all, the heights that can be built, always taking as a point of reference that what is intended is for it to be a building of unique character in an area of special projection for the city.
The mayor thanked Ramos for his visit to the city along with part of his technical team, and declared himself satisfied with the development of the process and is confident that its construction can be carried out in the shortest possible time.
