Free Trade Zone and Cádiz City Council hold a work day on the reorganization of the Exterior Industrial Estate

The Free Trade Zone delegate informed the mayor of the progress in the work that has been carried out through OPEX, the Office for Attracting Investments in the Exterior Estate.

The delegate of the Free Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Cádiz, José María González, accompanied by the Councilor for Urban Planning, Martín Vila, and by technicians from both institutions, have held a work day at the Consortium's Headquarters on the progress in the process of reorganization of the Exterior Industrial Estate of the Free Zone that is being carried out through the Office for Attracting Investments, OPEX.

The Free Trade Zone and OPEX technicians presented to the Cadiz mayor and his team the details of the reorganization of the Outdoor Industrial Estate and the progress and studies that have been carried out since the office began its activity.

In addition, José María González received information about the acquisitions carried out by the Consortium -Talleres Faro, former Super Cádiz, Abelló Linde, former Pastoriza, former Mazda dealer, Talleres Narváez or Ecava–, actions all aimed at taking positions for the future in the execution units that will initially be carried out.

After the work meeting, Jorge Ramos and José María González, accompanied by the technicians, visited two of the plots, Talleres Faro, on Ronda de Vigilancia street, and Abelló Linde, on Gibraltar street on the corner of Línea de la Concepción street, whose dismantling work has already been completed.

The demolition work of Talleres Faro has affected the buildings located on the 6,020 m² plot and the facilities that have been subject to demolition are the main industrial building of 5,995 m², inside which there are several smaller warehouses, and a 420 m² office building. The work has been highly complex due to the presence of asbestos, a material that requires specific work and the corresponding authorization from the Junta de Andalucía.

In Abelló Linde, the demolition has affected a main industrial building with a floor area of ​​1,638 m2, an industrial warehouse with offices of 369 m2 and two open warehouses for storage of 306 m2, in addition to the rest of the facilities such as parking canopies for vehicles, warehouse workshop, entrance booth, scale, etc.

Both Jorge Ramos and the technical team have offered the mayor of Cádiz and his team the details of the profound change that will occur in the industrial area of ​​the city, which will be radically modified with the creation of the Metropolitan Center, the commercial, hotel and office space at the entrance to the city, and the transformation of Algeciras Street, with the setback of the margins, the opening of a street that would link it with Gibraltar Street and the urbanization of new green spaces and roads.
