The Special Delegate of the State in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Los Barrios, Jorge Romero, have presented this afternoon in the plenary hall the basic and execution project for the construction of a Logistics Center on the PLT1 plot of the future tax precinct of El Fresno in the municipality, with the request for the corresponding works license that aims to speed up the deadlines and so that the works can be put out to tender at the highest as soon as possible.

Specifically, the project foresees the installation on a plot of 44,439 m2 – awarded by Public Call to a Logistics company – of a set of three industrial warehouses consisting of a refrigerated warehouse; dry ship; and workshop warehouse, as well as a building for a Border Inspection post. This complex will have an area of 13,503.45 m2 and will be complemented by a beach for truck parking and 100 loading docks.

Romero thanked the Free Zone delegate for the support and commitment in promoting projects and bringing investments to our municipality. The mayor has pointed out that with investments like this, "Los Barrios becomes an important logistics area for distribution and production that will increase the economic activity of the area. We are already the large commercial center of the region and one of the most important industrially and now we will be a project where the tax advantages offered by the facility will represent an important boost for the economy of the region."

For his part, the Special Delegate of the State in the Consortium of the Free Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, has pointed out that "the Government of Spain is demonstrating and fulfilling what we said we were going to do in Los Barrios. We demonstrate the principle of collaboration and institutional loyalty of the Free Zone with all administrations and to be able to move our province forward. We do not pay attention to political colors but to common sense and lay the foundations to create companies, with entrepreneurs who they generate jobs. With projects like this, we create the objective conditions to create jobs and attract these companies to create them.”

The Zona Franca continues to take steps to make the establishment of companies on this land a reality in the shortest possible time and there are already six companies that are interested in establishing themselves on this land, which already has an area of 140,000 m2 since the Zona Franca acquired another 37,000 m2 a month ago, in addition to those it bought last year from the Public Agency Ports of Andalusia.

The expansion of the Fiscal Precinct of the Cádiz Free Zone in Los Barrios is one of the most advanced milestones in the important expansion and expansion project of the Cádiz Institution. In this sense, the General Directorate of Customs and Excise Taxes has already been formally requested for the status of Tax Precinct and the Public Offer of spaces has been called, to which the six aforementioned companies, fundamentally belonging to the logistics and food production sector, were presented. These six companies demand a total area of 70,000 m2 with an investment of more than 35 million euros and a forecast of creating more than 500 new jobs.

El Fresno will be a productive space of great importance given its strategic location, since the tax area will be located next to the northern access to the Port of Algeciras and at the foot of the road communication with Seville and Madrid and the Mediterranean corridor, which makes it the most important hinterland of the Port of Algeciras.

The expansion and expansion of the Free Zone is a project that comes to light thanks to the commitment and commitment of the Government of Spain, which is carrying out a significant investment effort in the province through different tools and specific plans.
