The announcement to access a space in the enclave occupied by the former tobacco factory will be published at the beginning of next week
The projects presented will be evaluated taking into account criteria of job creation and investment volume, among others.
In its last meeting held this Wednesday, the Executive Committee of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone approved an update to the Public Offer conditions for the commercialization of the land facilities that the Free Trade Zone acquired from the tobacco company Altadis last June. At the beginning of next week, the announcement will be published that will give way to the presentation of offers by interested companies.
The Cádiz Consortium has already maintained contacts with companies interested in locating on these lands, with an area of 150,000 m2. It has been precisely the analysis of the market and the needs detected in the interested companies that has led to the updating of the conditions, with a more flexible space and a breakdown of the largest ones into batches, in order to facilitate marketing and meet the requirements of potential clients.
The call is open to any company with the need to start up, consolidate its business or expand its surface, as has been the case of the company Fricking Design, recently installed in one of the Altadis warehouses after moving from a smaller warehouse in the Exterior Industrial Estate.
Once the offers have been received, the Cádiz Consortium will carry out a prior study of the implementation needs and will award the facilities based on the evaluation criteria included in the Rules of the Call.
These criteria establish that the creation of direct and indirect employment will be prioritized first, as well as the offers that are most economically advantageous for the Free Zone. Another important piece of information for the valuation will be the investment volume and execution times.
Through this Public Offer and its result, the Consortium hopes to complete its expansion in Cádiz with the installation of a good number of companies that generate economic activity and several hundred jobs in the city.
Zona Franca hopes in a first stage to cover at least 50% of the surface area added to the current tax area, which will go from 330,000 m2 to almost 500,000 m2 immediately.
