Free Zone becomes part of the Commonwealth of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar

The Cádiz Free Zone will become part of the Economic and Social Council (CES) of the Commonwealth of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar after a meeting held yesterday in Algeciras and during which the president of the Campo Gibraltar entity, Luis Angel Fernández, highlighted the important role that the Consortium is carrying out in the Region, creating infrastructures that promote economic activity and employment.
The State delegate, Jorge Ramos, reported on the progress in the implementation of the tax precinct in El Fresno (Los Barrios), pending the approval of the modification of the urban planning in the town of Barreña to be able to begin the works and highlighted that there are eight companies interested in settling in, whose investment will be 150 million euros and more than a thousand jobs will be created.
During the meeting, Ramos and Fernández highlighted the importance of collaboration between institutions and also analyzed ways of cooperation for the processing of aid to the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to co-finance projects and initiatives in the field of Campo de Gibraltar.
With this incorporation into the Commonwealth, the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz confirms the outstanding role it plays as a driving force of economic activity in the Region, where in addition to the expansion of the Tax Precinct to the lands of El Fresno, it will also carry out its implementation on a plot of Cortijo Real, in Algeciras, and is working on the search for a suitable plot in La Línea. To this expansion and expansion project, we must add other actions in the region, such as the new Nexus Building in Algeciras or the development of the business incubator in Palmones and the future La Línea Business Center.
The president of the regional Association insisted that the Free Trade Zone will represent a change in the economy and the future options of the region, which is why he justified that the entity becomes another voice in the regional council for future events.
