24 former Procosur employees already work at the company's facilities and 14 more will join in the coming weeks

Gohisa moves between 70,000 and 100,000 kilograms of fish daily, which will increase in the coming days with the line of cephalopods

The intense activity of the company and its short and medium-term forecasts could make it necessary to expand the facilities

The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, yesterday visited the facilities of the Gohisa Fish company, which occupies warehouse 21 of the Interior Precinct and which began its activity a few weeks ago, once the start-up and adaptation works of this refrigerated warehouse warehouse were completed, co-financed by funds requested in the Feder Operational Framework 2007-2013.

Before touring the facilities, Jorge Ramos met with the company manager, Francisco Gómez Hidalgo, whom he congratulated for the activity carried out in this fishing industry and which has made it possible for 24 former employees of the former Procosur factory, which also carried out its activity in the Interior Campus and closed its doors last year, to be working in Gohisa, in addition to the fact that in the coming weeks another 14 people will join their jobs. as soon as the cephalopod line is put into full performance.

Gohisa, which handles, preserves and stores seafood, moves between 70,000 and 100,000 kilograms of fish daily, an amount that will increase in the coming days with the incorporation of the cephalopod line.

In this way, the volume of work and the intense activity and its short and medium-term forecasts could make it necessary to expand the facilities, since the current cold storage rooms already have a notable occupancy despite the recent start of activity.

The new facilities in the Free Trade Zone allow the freezing of fresh fish from ships linked to the Bay of Cádiz, Barbate and other Andalusian markets, in addition to introducing new species such as black horse mackerel, boga, salema, or mullet, among others, and a production line for fish fillets and clean cephalopods.

The warehouse occupied by Gohisa has a surface area of 2,406 m2 that meets its business expectations by having important equipment for industrial cold, with freezing chambers at -25 degrees, in a strategic location, since the warehouse is located on a plot of 1,389 m2, at the foot of the Ribera dock, expanding its capacity in the markets to international destinations.
