Zona Franca has undertaken works to adapt two facilities with a total area of 3,950 m2 for storage of medical supplies
In order to speed up the deadlines and start the activity as soon as possible, the Consortium already requested the first occupation license at the beginning of September.
This facility will allow the logistics storage work that the Andalusian Health Service had in several municipalities to be concentrated in the capital of Cadiz.
The adaptation works have been co-financed by funds requested within the framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013.
The Special Delegate of the State in the Cádiz Free Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos, inaugurated this morning the new facility that the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) will occupy in the Interior Precinct of the Free Zone and which will be used as a storage area for medical supplies.
In an event in which he was accompanied by part of his management team and Consortium technicians, as well as those responsible for the construction company responsible for the adaptation work, Prinur SAU, Ramos highlighted that the start of activity in this plant confirms the work of the Consortium in recent years to generate productive spaces and the filling of the available spaces in the Interior Precinct, hence the need to expand it and add land as a fiscal precinct in the city with the incorporation of the Altadis lands into the Free Trade Zone.
After a presentation by a technician from the Institution of the adaptation works carried out by the Consortium in warehouses 17A and 17B, with an area of 3,950.00 m2, the new facilities were visited in which the SAS is going to centralize its sanitary logistics storage work, which it had in different municipalities of the province, in the capital of Cadiz, so this new equipment responds to the need to have in the capital with a zone Strategically located for use as storage of medical supplies.
In order to speed up the deadlines once the adaptation work is completed, the Consortium requested the first occupation license from the Cádiz City Council.
It is worth remembering that the works have consisted of fully adapting the facilities to sanitary storage activity, with the construction of a toilet, office and changing room area, in addition to adapting the roads for the material loading platform. The new equipment also has a refrigeration area and another for special material.
The work was awarded last March to the company Prinur SAU for an amount of 1,140,526.12 euros (VAT not included), 26% lower than the base tender budget of 1,547,797.10 euros (VAT not included), and has been co-financed by Funds requested within the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013.
