Free Zone presents the archaeological report of Shot Janer at the Junta de Andalucía

The Consortium sent the document with the results of the work carried out by the Anfora company last week to the Ministry of Culture

Once the Board's response is received, the Free Trade Zone will be able to put out to tender the urbanization work.

The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz presented last week at the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalusia the archaeological report prepared by the company Anfora, in charge of the work on the Tiro Janer Industrial Estate. The Consortium will put out to tender the urbanization work once it receives the response from the Junta de Andalucía on the results and action measures proposed in the aforementioned document.

The archaeological excavation and cataloging of the remains found in the old island barracks has been extremely laborious. In these works, eight ovens and three groups of amphorae and up to 45 burials have been found, initially dated between the 1st and 3rd centuries BC. Zona Franca purchased the old Janer Shooting Range from the Ministry of Defense in 2013 and since then the Consortium has carried out intense work that began with the demolition of the old facilities. Subsequently, the important archaeological finds and the meticulous work by the experts slowed down the process.

The Consortium anticipates that it will be able to put out to tender the urbanization work in the coming weeks to be able to carry out as quickly as possible the commercial and business park project with a maximum construction of approximately 60,000 square meters, for which contacts have already been made with companies. interested in settling in this magnificently located enclave.
