The works, in accordance with the technical specifications indicated by the Cádiz City Council, have involved clearing and cleaning the plot, as well as the installation of a new fence and the expansion of the sidewalk to improve pedestrian circulation.
Electrical connections for public lighting have also been installed to improve nighttime visibility.
The Cádiz Free Trade Zone has completed this week the works to clean up and improve the external enclosure of the plot occupied by Construcciones Aeronáuticas (CASA) in the city of Cádiz, works that began last May following technical specifications from the Cádiz City Council and that were processed as a matter of urgency due to the deterioration of the wall that fenced the site.
The work on the perimeter wall, which has been carried out along Guadalmesí streets, extension C/Barbate and Avenida Lacave, has consisted of the demolition of the existing wall, which was in poor condition and from which small fragments had been falling off, and its replacement with a two-meter-high mesh fence that, in addition to improving the enclosure, facilitates surveillance and control inside the plot. For access to it, a two-leaf door four meters wide in total has been installed.
It should be noted that in the section between the Sports Complex and Guadalmesí Street, the lower part of the enclosure has been reinforced with a plinth formed by four courses of concrete blocks topped by the same type of fence, since this area is used for parking vehicles.
Furthermore, in the area between the Maariffa building and the roundabout with Marconi and Lacave Avenues, the fence has been set back 60 cm, widening the sidewalk to improve pedestrian circulation in the area.
Finally, a public lighting pipeline has been executed as well as the bases for the installation of the corresponding streetlights that will improve nighttime visibility.
In parallel with the works on the perimeter, clearing and cleaning work has been carried out on the entire plot. It is worth remembering that the Cádiz Consortium had already carried out several actions aimed at the maintenance and improvement of this plot. Thus, in 2013, and also at the request of the City Council, the site was comprehensively cleaned and shanties that had been installed on the plot were removed. After the completion of these cleaning works, the Free Trade Zone proceeded in the same year to regenerate the wall and perimeter fence.
