Free Trade Zone has already officially requested Customs to include the Altadis lands in the Fiscal Precinct

A multinational company has shown interest in occupying 70% of the facilities.

The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, has already formally requested the inclusion of the lands occupied by Altadis in the Cádiz Tax Precinct through a formal document sent last week to the director of the Department of Customs and Excise Taxes.

The land of the former tobacco factory occupies an area of 105,000 m2, to which must be added the land owned by the Free Zone itself in that area and which was leased to Altadis, with a total of 39,000 m2, and the 5,000 m2 that are owned by the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz and with whom an agreement for the concession that is already being agreed upon will be signed.

With all this, the Fiscal Precinct of the Free Zone in the capital of Cadiz will have 480,000 m2, becoming an important industrial focus and for which there are already companies interested in locating there. In fact, an important multinational has already shown its interest and could occupy 70% of the total space.

Zona Franca is streamlining the procedures to begin the implementation of companies and the Executive Committee last Friday approved the bases of the Public Offer for these lands, as well as the rates to be applied in the lease.

On the land that the old tobacco factory had in the city of Cádiz, there are a series of facilities that were dedicated to the manufacturing of tobacco, a service building, an office building and several warehouses, among other facilities.

The expansion of the Tax Precinct of the Free Zone in the capital will be an important milestone in the entire expansion and expansion project, since the city as the embryo of the Free Zone is the head and epicenter of this ambitious project.

The Free Trade Zone has already held talks, which are very advanced, for the implementation of new and important companies, which could begin their installation this year.

Free Trade Zone will have to carry out redevelopment, security, lighting and sanitation works on the land and facilities occupied by the tobacco company so that the surface is adapted and meets the same conditions as the current Precinct since it will be attached to it.

This act represents the second step taken for the important expansion and expansion project that the Cádiz Free Trade Zone is carrying out and that will make the Cádiz Consortium go from having 300,000 m2 to 1,300,000 m2. The first milestone was the acquisition from the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia last autumn of the El Fresno land, in Los Barrios, with an area of 140,000 m2, where four important industries have already confirmed their installation, with an initial investment of more than 29 million euros and an occupation of more than 63,000 m2.
