Zona Franca attends the 2015 Seafood Fair in Brussels

This sector has a large presence in the Fiscal Area with different companies that occupy more than 40,000 m2

Managers of the Commercial Division of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz will travel to Brussels tomorrow to attend the European Seafood Exposition 2015 Brussels Fair, which is held at the NPO Brussels Expo fairgrounds from April 21 to 23 and is one of the most important fairs in the world in the agri-food sector, which has made this event an essential event for professionals in the sector.
The directors of the Cádiz Consortium plan to maintain contacts with different companies in addition to learning about the latest news about it. It must be taken into account that important business relationships and contacts are made during the various exhibitions, business roundtables and conferences.
The Cádiz Institution has always hosted a significant number of companies belonging to the agri-food sector in its Fiscal Precinct and in the 330,000 m2 of surface of the Fiscal Precinct, there are different firms that dedicate their activity to this sector, occupying more than 40,000 m2 of facilities.
It is worth noting the case of the company dedicated to the production of flour and derivatives, which has its own factory, scale and different warehouses in the Free Trade Zone with a total area of ​​almost 25,000 m2 and expansion works have already begun that will increase its surface area and storage volume considerably. Since 1991, when the factory began operating, the company has been expanding its facilities with the construction of new warehouses.
Regarding the fishing sector, the Zona Franca facilities host the main supplier of fish and seafood of a major hypermarket and has its operations center in an 8,915 m2 warehouse.
Furthermore, in 2000 two young entrepreneurs launched, supported by the Cádiz Institution, a novel idea in Cádiz. In a 366 m ship² They launched a seafood nursery for distribution from Cádiz to various national and international points.
One of the traditional companies in the Consortium is the one dedicated to the storage and distribution of coffee and nuts, which has a 6,000 m warehouse.², while the most recent installation is the company dedicated to the industrial production of nutritional diets, which has a space of 1,320 m2.
Furthermore, in the near future an important logistics-food operator will be installed on more than 6,000 m2 of the Campus, which will involve an investment of more than 5 million euros.
European Seafood Exposition 2015 Brussels offers attendees the opportunity to maintain contacts with authorities and prominent professionals in the sector and, in the case of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, present its advantages and facilities, now in full growth with the expansion project and extension of the Tax Precinct to other municipalities in the province.
