Zona Franca requests a building permit for the demolition of the old Abelló Linde facilities

The land covers a total area of 9,893 m2 and its acquisition has involved an outlay of 2.8 million euros.

The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz has presented to the Cádiz City Council the license for the demolition works of the old existing facilities on the plot that belonged to Abelló Linde, land that the Cádiz Consortium acquired on December 31 as one more step in the process of regeneration of the Outdoor Estate that is being carried out jointly with the Cádiz City Council through the Office for Attracting Investments in the Outdoor Estate (OPEX).
The Free Trade Zone aims to expedite as much as possible the procedures that allow work to begin in this Execution Unit. In this way, the Consortium will proceed as soon as possible to dismantle the existing buildings on the 9,893 m2 plot, respecting the so-called main office building that is considered a protected building within the Architectural Catalog of the PGOU of Cádiz. The existing Transformation Center, which is owned by Eléctrica de Cádiz, will not be demolished either.
The project drawn up by the technical team of the Cádiz Free Zone contemplates the demolition of the rest of the existing buildings that consist of a main industrial building with a floor area of 1,638 m2, an industrial warehouse with offices of 369 m2 and two open warehouses for storage of 306 m2, in addition to the rest of the facilities such as parking canopies for vehicles, warehouse workshop, entrance booth, scale, etc.
On December 31, the Free Zone acquired the Abelló Linde plot in the Exterior Industrial Estate of the Free Zone, specifically on Gibraltar Street on the corner of La Línea de la Concepción, for an amount of 2,800,000 euros.
The Consortium already owns, in addition to Abelló Linde, the plots occupied by Súper Cádiz, Talleres Narváez, ECAVA and Talleres Faro, actions all aimed at taking positions for the future in the execution units that will initially be carried out.
What is known as the industrial zone of the city will change radically with the creation of the Metropolitan Center, the commercial, hotel and office space at the entrance to the city, and the radical transformation of Algeciras Street, with the setback of the margins, the opening of a street that would join it with Gibraltar Street and the urbanization of new green spaces and roads.
