Last week, the Free Trade Zone delegate and the mayor of the municipality ratified the action, which is co-financed by funds requested in the FEDER Operational Framework of Andalusia 2007-2013.
Today, the Cádiz Free Zone has put out to tender the necessary works for the execution of the urban improvement and accessibility of the La Palmosa industrial estate, in Alcalá de los Gazules. These works, financed by funds requested in the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013, have a base bidding budget of 195,000 euros (VAT not included) and a deadline for submitting offers until April 29, at 2:00 p.m.
The improvement of this industrial estate is part of the Zona Franca's line of work to reinforce its presence in the province and, in particular, in a privileged area such as Alcalá de los Gazules, which is an important connection route between the Bay of Cádiz and the Bay of Algeciras. For this reason, the delegate of the Cádiz Institution, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of the municipality, Julio Toscano, signed last week at the Consortium's Headquarters the collaboration agreement to develop the action, once the Free Zone Executive Committee authorized this action in its last meeting held on March 30.
The Consortium plans to expedite the procedures as much as possible to allow the work to begin in the shortest possible time, which is why it will present the project in the coming days to the Alcalaíno City Council in order to obtain the corresponding construction license.
The project contemplates actions aimed at strengthening the urban structure, the improvement of the service infrastructure and a potentiation of the global image, which will result in more attractive spaces, greater business quality and comfort for users.
The works will improve paving, accessibility -with adaptability of pedestrian passages, accessible tours, etc-, in addition to a reorganization of the frontal space that will include the management of parking spaces; creation of rest zones; creation of children's spaces; Ordination of green areas and improvement of traffic signage.
The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz already has experience in this type of actions, and is thus carrying out the improvement of the El Portal Industrial Park, in Jerez de la Frontera; and the redevelopment of the Palmones Industrial Estate, in Los Barrios, where the works will be awarded in the coming days. With this project, the Free Trade Zone strengthens this line of work in order to serve as an instrument to reactivate the economy, since the improvement in the La Palmosa industrial estate will enhance the facilities, with the aim of contributing to the socioeconomic development of the entire area.
