The Cádiz Free Trade Zone has awarded the works to renovate the air conditioning system of the Consortium's Headquarters building to the company Solar Jienense SL for an amount of 178,506 euros (VAT not included), a contract co-financed by funds requested in the Feder de Andalucía Operational Framework 2007-2013
In this way, the Consortium will adapt its facilities to energy efficiency criteria, while at the same time achieving modernization of the facilities and therefore reducing their maintenance costs in addition to achieving an improvement in performance.
With this reform, whose execution period is four months, the Free Trade Zone will be able to optimize resources, since the project plans to sectorize by use zones depending on the thermal needs of each area, which will result, in addition to a reduction in costs, in greater comfort for users at any time of the year.
The Cádiz Consortium already began the adaptation of its facilities to energy efficiency criteria last year when it implemented the energy service of improvement, efficiency and savings in the car parks it has in the city of Cádiz, Carranza and Glorieta, in the Exterior Precinct, and Parking in Height, in the Interior Precinct. In this work, the Zona Franca renewed all the lighting in the aforementioned parking lots and proceeded to install a presence detection system in the Altura parking lot, which has meant an average saving on the parking lot's electricity bill of 38%.
In the coming days, it is also expected that the works to renew the public lighting of the Interior Campus will be awarded, which will mean an average saving of 65% while improving performance at a much lower price.
