The projects presented will be evaluated taking into account criteria of job creation and investment volume, among others.
The Executive Committee of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone approved in its last meeting the Public Call for the Study of Needs for the Implementation of Industrial Projects and Allocation of Plots in El Fresno, on the land on which the expansion of the Fiscal Precinct in Los Barrios will be located. The Free Trade Zone has given the call due publicity and attendance by publishing last Saturday in the Official State Gazette and on the Consortium's Website the announcement of the call, which will remain open until next March 24.
The Cádiz Consortium has already maintained contacts with companies interested in locating on Free Zone land in order to benefit from the corresponding customs and tax advantages and this is a very important step to formalize the installation of industries, which will be able to opt not only for the land that the Consortium has acquired from the Andalusian Ports Public Agency (APPA) but could also study the possibility of opting for other annexed spaces that could be of your preference.
In fact, the Cádiz Free Zone made the first payment yesterday for the acquisition of these lands, delivering to the APPA an amount of 2,524,326.93 euros.
The call is aimed at industrial companies that require a standard auxiliary building or one executed or promoted by the Free Zone based on their needs for the start-up, expansion or consolidation of their activities. They can also only opt for industrial land to carry out the building by their own means.
At the same time, those projects that, for the purposes of European co-financing, may be potential beneficiaries, will be processed to qualify for co-financing within the Andalusia Operational Program 2007-2013 by the Free Zone as an Intermediate Body for European Regional Structural Development Funds (ERDF).
Once the offers have been received, the Cádiz Consortium will carry out a prior study of the implementation needs and will award the plots with or without construction based on the evaluation criteria included in the Call Rules.
These criteria establish that the creation of direct and indirect employment will be prioritized first, as well as the offers that are most economically advantageous for the Free Zone. Another important piece of information for the valuation will be the investment volume and execution times. Those activities classified as preferential in the Sustainable Economy Law Project (Science and Innovation I D; Environmental Sustainability; Savings and Energy Efficiency) will also be valued.
