The program, which follows the model of another successful launch in Toledo, aims to study and develop a novel methodology for business creation
The Special Delegate of the State in the Cádiz Free Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos; the president of the Cádiz Chamber of Commerce, Ángel Juan Pascual; and the general director of the Cameral Institute Foundation for the creation and development of the Company (INCYDE), Javier Collado, have signed this morning a collaboration agreement for the joint implementation of a pilot project called Innovation Start-up Camp, within the framework of the Operational Program “Adaptability and Employment” of the European Social Fund.
This project sees the light to develop in the surroundings of the city of Cádiz a new methodology to create companies with high innovative potential. With the name Innovation Start-up Cádiz Camp, following a model already successfully tested in Toledo for the better functioning of business incubators, it will consist of a pilot experience through which 15 entrepreneurs, accompanied by their corresponding mentors, ideate, design and constitute three Start-ups with high innovative content within a period of two months.
With this type of project, the signatory institutions aim to promote the entrepreneur who has an idea to develop it, in this case in the Cádiz area, and create a company with the necessary training, location and financing.
The implementation of this project will take place with the construction of a campus that will take place in the demarcation of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz and will last 7 weeks, with a scheduled start in the first months of 2015. The main objectives of the camp will be to support young graduates who have a creative and entrepreneurial spirit; promote innovative initiatives as elements of progress; test new methodologies for entrepreneurship; and highlight the important role of training in the creation of new companies.
The campus calendar foresees that the selection of the 15 participants will first be carried out from among university students in their final year of study or who have completed their studies in recent years. Creative potential, entrepreneurial spirit and knowledge of New Technologies will be valued. During the first week, presentations of the participants are made and creativity workshops and coaching activities will be given. Already in the second week, the participants will begin to think about possible business ideas and at the end the participants will be divided into 3 groups of 5 people each. In the third week each group will work on the development of their idea, at the same time workshops will be held. During the fourth week, finance and search for financing and partner workshops will be held. The fifth week will consist of a pre-evaluation phase in which the mentors will help the entrepreneurs detect errors, resolve doubts and improve proposals. In the sixth week we will work on the business plan of each group. Finally, in the seventh week, a final project status report will be prepared and the company and the prototype, if applicable, will be launched.
