The start of the works, whose maximum execution period is one year, is scheduled for the first days of April although Zona Franca intends to advance this date
The works are financed by funds requested within the framework of the Feder de Andalucía 2007-2013
A total of 12 companies have presented themselves to the public tender open on December 1 through the Free Zone of Cádiz to tender the execution works corresponding to the “Executive Project for the construction of storage silos, mixing and loading in the bulk of flours”. These works, financed by funds requested within the framework of the Feder de Andalucía 2007-2013 operating program, have a bidding base budget of 13.7 million euros (VAT not included).
The beginning of the expansion works is scheduled for the first days of April, although the Cadiz consortium aims to advance this date and to maximize the work prior to the beginning of the work.
This is one of the most important projects for the city's economy as it will generate economic activity, by increasing the storage capacity of Vilafranquina by 7,933 m3, with the consequent increase in economic activity throughout its area of influence.
In the same way, in the collaboration line between Zona Franca and City Council, the Cadiz Consistory will transfer to the consortium the professional categories of the Unemployed Cadiz in the construction sector with the objective that the winning company can count on them to meet the needs of personnel in the execution of the work, an initiative that will be carried out in it and in all those tenders underway.
The deadline for receipt of offers concluded at 2:00 p.m. last Friday, January 9 and after the corresponding period for the correction, on January 19, the technical offers will be opened and the process of studying them. The total investment of the entire action will reach 14.75 million euros, including machinery. The action, whose works have a maximum execution period of one year, also has a bridge financing of 12 million euros.
The construction, consisting of an installation of aerial metal silos intended for the collection of flour, will have an area of 631.28 m2 with a maximum height of 47.10 meters. This silo module will be adjacent to the existing grain warehouses although separate from the existing flour production building and connected only by an aerial walkway at the top.
The new ship will be a rectangular plant of dimensions 30.35 x 20.80 meters and will have several levels. The first level will be used for truck loading, clean production area, accesses, warehouses and compressor room. The following levels will be used for machinery and process equipment, while at the last level the filling of the silos will be carried out.
The investment in machinery, which consists of a weighing system, hoist, storage silos, installation of mechanical equipment, sanitary equipment, elevator and pallet racking, amounts to 8.3 million euros.
