Zona Franca commissions the geotechnical study for the new tax facility in El Fresno in order to expedite the start of the projects

The geotechnical works will quantify the characteristics of the terrain and the environment where constructions are planned for the analysis and sizing of the foundations of the works.

The tax facility in El Fresno, for which the Consortium has received 10 million Reindus Funds, represents the beginning of the provincial expansion and expansion of the Free Trade Zone, which in a period of 3-5 years will be the first industrial focus of the province

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium is expediting all the necessary steps for the launch of the new tax facility in El Fresno (Los Barrios), the first within the framework of its expansion plan and extension to the province. In this way, it has commissioned the geotechnical study that will analyze and size the characteristics of the land where the companies will settle, in parallel to the work it has been carrying out in attracting companies for said land. In fact, Zona Franca is working on several projects for companies interested in establishing themselves in the area, projects that are already being studied, specifically 3 that are in a very advanced phase, and that are only waiting for both the Los Barrios City Council and the Junta de Andalucía complete the approval of the urban modifications that will make possible the aforementioned start of the works in this fiscal area.
The geotechnical study commissioned will collect peculiarities and problems of location, instability, landslides, buried obstacles, available information on groundwater and rainfall, among others.
It is worth remembering that Zona Franca has received a total of 10 million euros in Reindustrialization Funds granted by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism for the implementation of this new tax facility. The financing support from the National Government following the request made last August by Zona Franca is essential for the development of this action, allowing the acquisition of between 70,000 m2 and 100,000 m2 of sector 1 of El Fresno, where the tax facility will be located in the Bahía de Algeciras Logistics Area.
In parallel with obtaining the Reindus Funds, the signing of the agreement between the Free Zone and the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia took place in September, which was signed by the State delegate of the Consortium, Jorge Ramos, and the managing director of the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia, Miguel Angel Paneque, and that allowed the aforementioned acquisition of land.
