Jorge Ramos closes the program to Improve the Competitiveness of MicroSMEs in Tarifa

17 diplomas were awarded, with the expectation of generating thirty jobs

Ramos congratulated the participants and reflected on the importance of entrepreneurs in the development of the province's productive model.

The Special Delegate of the State in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos, spoke last Tuesday afternoon in Tarifa at the closing ceremony of the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce program Improving the Competitiveness of MicroSMEs, aimed at promoting the business fabric, improving the management of SMEs and promoting self-employment, and of which the Consortium is co-financing along with the European Social Fund. The participants came mostly from the trade-services sector, with a balance of 17 diplomas and a forecast of job creation of more than thirty.

Along with the delegate, the presentation of diplomas to the participants was attended by the president of the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Fenoy; Ana Santillán, director of Training Coordination and Management of the INCYDE Foundation; and Teresa Vaca, Development delegate of the Tarifa City Council, Teresa Vaca.

After five weeks of intense group training and tutoring, the projects have consolidated a global action plan based on improving the relationship with customers in business, both at the point of sale itself and on the Internet, with the design of a strategic plan in the new social media.

During the closing ceremony, Jorge Ramos congratulated the participants and expressed his satisfaction with the results achieved in relation to the creation of new jobs. In his speech, Ramos reflected on the role that the Administration and institutions play in supporting companies and entrepreneurs, true generators of employment and wealth, explaining that entrepreneurs are the true architects of improving the productive model of this province, insufficient and always below the national and Andalusian average, even in good times.
The top leader of the Fiscal Institution opted for the public to “create objective conditions for entrepreneurs to generate economic activity and employment.” Specifically, he explained that the province of Cádiz has large thriving industries such as the naval, petrochemical or stainless steel sectors, however there is no network of small and medium-sized companies that provide added value and complete the existing production model.
For this reason, he encouraged them to continue working and improving themselves to be more competitive and create jobs and to have the Cádiz Free Zone as an entity with a provincial vocation, a Free Zone that is present throughout the province and that will be even more so in the coming years thanks to its Expansion and Extension plan. “Cadiz and Campo de Gibraltar need competitive businessmen and entrepreneurs” that will be able to benefit from the new productive spaces in which to settle and develop their activities, companies that will meet the expectations of rising consumption that will derive from the strength and improvement of economic conditions, Ramos concluded.

For his part, in his speech, Fenoy expressed his satisfaction with the balance of the program and congratulated the businesses for their commitment to innovation and employment after its completion. "These data encourage us to maintain continuity in our policy of supporting small businesses. In the specific case of Tarifa we have to work to break seasonality and attract visitors all year round, reinforcing the tourism-commerce binomial that this municipality is in exceptional conditions to offer," said Fenoy.

The Public Works delegate, Teresa Vaca, celebrated the organization of this program in the municipality as well as the participation of businesses and their commitment to introducing improvements in their activity.

For her part, the director of Training Coordination of the INCYDE Foundation wanted to convey the importance of having a good digital presence to reach new consumers. In this sense, Santillán recalled that consultants will be available to participating companies to help them continue working on their strategic plans.
