The Interfood Forum is made up of 30 leading Spanish companies in the food processing and distribution sector.
Yuste opted for a chain alliance model, in which the consumer is the lighthouse that must guide every company
The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz in collaboration with Cadena Cope have launched a cycle of Radio Encuentros that was inaugurated on Monday night by the managing director of the Interfood Forum, Víctor Yuste. With the title “The strengthening of the business brand in the national market, Yuste addressed the keys to promoting and consolidating business activities associated with an agri-food brand, bringing together keys and experiences focused on increasing the competitiveness of the Cádiz business fabric and providing added value.
The conference, included in the Radio Encuentros cycle, took place in the Assembly Hall of the Heracles Building and reflected once again the Consortium's commitment to promoting economic activity and the creation of wealth and employment by supporting the business community and, specifically, small and medium-sized companies, in this case very focused on the primary sector.
This was emphasized by the Special Delegate of the State, Jorge Ramos, who opened the event by being convinced that businessmen and, specifically, entrepreneurs, are the true architects of economic growth, since without businesspeople companies cannot be created, which are the real drivers of the economy and job creators.
The head of the Cádiz Consortium expressed his confidence that this province, with everyone's efforts, will be able to overcome the challenge of the structural deficit it has, which, even in good economic times, has an unemployment rate above the average of the rest of the country. In fact, to counteract this reality, Ramos highlighted the outstanding role of the Free Zone Consortium to favor and provide SMEs and entrepreneurs with equipment, services and financing tools that enhance their implementation and growth. And to achieve this purpose, the delegate placed special emphasis on the fact that Zona Franca is immersed in a major project that will place it in the next 3-5 years as the first economic focus of the province: Its expansion and extension to new tax precincts in the province, going from the 324,000 m2 that it currently has in Cádiz, -where it will also expand its facilities-, to 1,300,000 m2 located in municipalities such as Los Barrios, Algeciras, La Línea or Jerez.
With this extension and expansion of the Free Trade Zone, it proposes to enhance, not only the distribution of goods, but also and above all, to convert the province into a production center, through the installation of companies in tax areas in which, by being able to benefit from customs and tax advantages, they save production costs and, therefore, increase competitiveness.
After Ramos' opening, Victor Yuste's presentation began, focusing on highlighting several keys to consolidating the business brand of the agri-food sector, which accounts for 8% of our country's GDP. Yuste explained that the consumer must guide the entire strategy of a company, the entire chain must be focused on them so that the agri-food sector maintains its strength in the national market.
He highlighted the “golden rules” to increase the efficiency of the sector, which are none other than guaranteeing safety; ensure quality; offer service; be competitive in price and generate profit.
Interalimentario Forum is a non-profit organization established in 2006 and currently made up of nearly 30 leading Spanish companies in the food processing and distribution sector (Mercadona, Covap, Casa Tarradellas, Siro group, Bodegas Estévez, etc.), united by the common objective of promoting the improvement of consumer food information and education. Its partners directly employ more than 92,000 workers, and collaborate with more than 22,000 SMEs and primary producers throughout the national territory. They work to be competitive and to align all the links in the supply chain that intervene in the production processes towards the same objective, promoting teamwork and the efficiency of the entire chain.
