The beginning of the activity of the warehouses developed by the Free Trade Zone in the “Villa de Rota” Industrial and Business Park, closer to being a reality. This was announced today by the State delegate in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Rota, Eva Corrales, in a press conference held at the doors of the Industrial Estate in which both explained the details of the new facilities.
Last Monday, the Executive Committee of the Cádiz Consortium gave the green light to the bases of the Public Offer for the Sale of the 28 nest warehouses, located at the entrance to the city, next to the new access roundabout on Avenida de la Libertad, given the good response of the business community in the area, which has shown interest in this facility, in need of facilities in which to launch, expand or diversify their activities, a fact increased by the consequent economic impact of the expansion of use of the Base of Rota, on the occasion of its inclusion in the NATO anti-missile shield.
The Public Offer, which can be consulted on the websites of Zona Franca and the Roteño City Council www.zonafrancacadiz.com and www.aytorota.es, offers information on the 28 warehouses, 24 of which have a total constructed area of between 207 and 210 m2, while 4 of them on the corner have a larger area, approximately 572 m2, with prices ranging from 355 euros/m2 to 408 euros/m2, 25% below market prices.
Likewise, the Offer offers plans, qualities and descriptions, and particular contracting conditions, all aimed at making attractive and affordable nest ships available to business people where they can create their businesses, grow and generate employment, something that is a priority for both the Cádiz Consortium and the municipal government.
Zona Franca and the Rota City Council are not only working on the marketing of the warehouses, but are also looking for financing options that will facilitate, in these especially complicated times, the access of local entrepreneurs and businessmen to these warehouses in the new industrial estate and Rota commercial.
The project, in figures
The works on the warehouses, whose completion is scheduled for next December, were awarded to Acciona Infraestructuras for an amount of 1,434,928.32 euros (VAT not included) and have a Reindus subsidy from the Ministry of Industry and Energy of 1.7 million euros, which demonstrates the commitment that the Government of the Nation has for this project, so necessary and important for Rota entrepreneurs, for the local business fabric and for economic growth in the town.
The work consists of the construction of a set of nest ships made up of four modules with similar characteristics that are distributed symmetrically on the plot. Each module is made up of seven naves, one larger in the corner and six in between, all of them composed of a ground floor and a mezzanine. The warehouses are built on a plot of 5,350 m2 and the total built area is 7,407.83 m².
It is worth remembering that this action is the result of joint work between institutions and that it comes to light thanks to a collaboration agreement for the development, promotion and marketing of this set of warehouses signed in 2013 by the State delegate in the Free Trade Zone and the mayor. of Rota.
