This expansion, together with the future Carbures plant in the Free Trade Zone, justify the expansion and expansion of the Institution as the Fiscal Precinct is 97% full.
The project includes the construction of a new silo warehouse for storage, which will increase the total turnover volume at the Campus.
This initiative, which is co-financed by Feder Funds, has a guaranteed return on investment and its self-financing.
Zona Franca is expediting the procedures so that the expansion of the Harinera Vilafranquina facilities in the Fiscal Area becomes an immediate reality, in the conviction that it is one of the most important projects for the city's economy and that it will generate economic activity and consequently employment for the citizens of Cádiz.
Thus, last Monday the 28th, the Consortium presented to the Cádiz City Council the basic project and an impact study on the landscape and urban image for the application for the corresponding construction license, a prior and essential step to be able to begin the same in the shortest possible time. In fact, we are working with deadlines in which the works can begin in the last quarter of the year.
The construction of a new silo warehouse will be carried out on plot P-22, attached to the existing silo warehouse (with an area of 1,366.55 m2), so this operation - in which Zona Franca will invest around 11 million euros -, together with the construction of the future Carbures plant, - with a planned investment of approximately 7 million euros -, will almost completely fill the Fiscal Precinct. 97% occupied, which is why they justify and support the expansion and expansion of the Free Trade Zone, since the Consortium needs to grow to create new productive spaces that offer tax advantages that attract and favor the implementation of new companies.
This operation will not only have an impact on improving the competitiveness of the company dedicated to the manufacture of wheat flour and semolina, expanding the range of its products, but it will also significantly increase the volume of turnover that the Tax Precinct currently has, which is around 350 million euros, counting only on the current 330,000 m2, which is expected to multiply its surface area up to 1,300,000 m2 after the process of expanding the Free Zone in tax areas in the Bay of Cádiz, Jerez-Campiña and Bahía de Algeciras.
The expansion of the Harinera facilities has co-financing from Feder Funds within the 2007-20013 framework and is guaranteed the return on investment and its self-financing with separate lease contracts with the agri-food company for both the plot and the future building, for a period of 30 years.
The basic project that addresses the development of the building includes a silo warehouse for flour and wheat semolina that will have a total storage capacity of 7,932 m3 of flour with mixing and automated loading and unloading facilities, whose purpose will be to serve the aforementioned already existing industrial facility, forming with it a functional unit.
Currently, the Harinera Vilafranquina plant in the Cádiz Tax Precinct produces the main products
breadmaking flours and special flours. Durum Wheat Semolina: Semolina, Extrafine, Fine and Granulated and has WHEAT Selection and Conditioning facilities for Export. The grinding capacity is 2,200 MT/24 hours, the raw material storage capacity is 83,500 MT and the finished product storage capacity is 17,300 MT. It will be the storage capacity that will be significantly expanded with the new installation.
