Customs Warehouse and Logistics Southern Europe S.L. (DALSE), new company of the Zona Franca Group

DALSE will carry out activities as a logistics operator from the Consortium's facilities at the Isla Verde dock

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium and the company Bernardino Abad S.L. yesterday morning, Monday, they formalized the constitution of the company Depósito Aduanero y Logístico Sur de Europa S.L. (DALSE), a company whose purpose is the management and operation of the Algeciras Free Warehouse, a facility of the Cádiz Consortium located at the Isla Verde dock in the Port of Algeciras. The new company will carry out all types of activities as a logistics operator, improving and modernizing its services with the extensive experience in the sector and the important commercial network that the Bernardino Abad company already has.
The Board of Directors of DALSE will be made up of members of Zona Franca, Bernardino Abad S.L. and with the presidents of the Chambers of Commerce of Cádiz and Campo de Gibraltar, Ángel Juan Pascual (in his capacity as member of the Executive Committee of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz) and Carlos Fenoy.
It is worth remembering that the constitution of this company has been carried out following a public procedure, which Zona Franca announced in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on December 3 and which had the objective of creating a 50/50 company to manage the mentioned deposit. It was the Executive Committee of the Cádiz Free Zone, meeting on March 13, who awarded Bernardino Abad S.L. the management of the Consortium's facilities at the Isla Verde dock.
The recently created Southern European Customs and Logistics Warehouse (DALSE) will manage the Free Warehouse of Algeciras based on the experience and extensive relationship with the customs authorities that Bernardino Abad S.L. has, whose offer stood out for a series of notable aspects such as being a historical logistics operator of the Port of Cádiz with extensive experience and an important commercial network that can allow the capture of traffic and operations through the facilities in Algeciras, thus increasing business activity. In fact, the comprehensive service that the company already offers opens up possible sources of indirect income for Zona Franca, which has also valued the commitment to medium-term job creation presented by the company. –with the initial forecast of 15 jobs, a figure that may be expanded in the future– and the recovery of the investment made by the Free Trade Zone in Algeciras.
Specifically, the new company of the Zona Franca Group, DALSE, was born with very specialized hallmarks such as full development as a Logistics Operator, taking advantage of the tax advantages of customs administrative authorizations; the sustained growth of logistics and storage operations, transfers and transshipments; the optimization of new cold chambers; optimization of the human team, improvement and training in computer systems; and improving available storage spaces.

The Free Deposit, in figures

The Free and Fiscal Warehouse of Algeciras is made up of facilities closed on the perimeter and isolated from the rest of the port environment. It is made up of four warehouses with a covered area of approximately 8,400 m2 and an adjacent plot whose uncovered area is approximately 1,600 m2, equipped with ten docks for loading and unloading vehicles. These facilities make up an exempt customs area that allows you to have both community and non-community goods, to which neither the tariffs nor the taxation of the community country is applied. This allows goods from third countries to be deposited without applying tariffs or community trade policy and also to incorporate national and community merchandise without the corresponding taxation, assimilating it to an export.
The customs and tax advantages obtained by companies with activities in the Free Warehouse of Algeciras are, among others, the exemption of import duties, while the merchandise remains in the Free Warehouse; exemption from the payment of special taxes for undispatched goods introduced into the Free Warehouse; VAT exemption for goods in Free Warehouse and for the services provided on them; operations subject to Active Processing Traffic in those non-community goods that must be subjected to transformation and that are re-exported, without requiring guarantees, guarantees or other expenses such as those that are levied on these operations in other customs destinations.
With the creation and launch of this company, the Zona Franca Group adds a member to the business units that already comprise it, Documentary Services of Andalusia, Zona Franca Business Center and Zona Franca Parking, through which the Consortium Cádiz offers a wide and varied network of services to citizens, which complements the promotion and implementation of equipment and facilities to improve the socioeconomic development of the province of Cádiz.
