The delegate of the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Vejer, José Ortiz, yesterday ratified the development agreement for the construction and operation of the new business building that will be used as a Business Center and Municipal Services.
The new construction, which will also house the facilities of the local Hospitality School, will be located on a plot owned by the City Council in the area called El Valle-San Miguel and will become a benchmark in the region, with the aim of improving logistics services and promoting industrial and business activities in La Janda.
The signing of this agreement materializes the collaboration agreement signed between Zona Franca and Vejer City Council last year, in which both entities committed to launching different actions to promote economic activity in the region.
Since then, efforts have been intensified to carry out the construction of this building, a process that took a decisive step last month with the request for a building permit from the City Council, the only pending requirement to put the work out to tender.
The procedures to begin the execution of the work will culminate in the coming days with the tender, which has a tender budget of 2,272,490.47 euros (VAT not included), financed by Feder Funds, and whose execution period is 11 months.
It is worth remembering that on June 25, the Cádiz Free Trade Zone awarded architect Manuel Quijano Vallejo the drafting of the execution project for the construction of the new building.
The municipal plot on which action will be taken has an area of approximately 3,500 square meters and a Business Center with 15 offices, classrooms for different uses and a coworking room is expected to be located on it.
The Hospitality School and Municipal Services will occupy about 600 square meters and 200 square meters will be used for commercial premises.
