The Cádiz Free Zone Consortium presented last Tuesday, May 28, at the San Fernando City Council the application to obtain the license to proceed with the demolition of the buildings at the Tiro Janer industrial estate, in San Fernando, work that has recently been awarded to the company Erri Berri.
Three days later, the Preventive Archaeological Activity Project was presented to the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Andalusia in order to obtain the corresponding authorization and begin the demolition. This permit is mandatory because part of the plot is within a BIC environment (Asset of Cultural Interest).
Of the six companies invited to carry out the demolition, the one that presented the most advantageous economic offer was the aforementioned Erri berri, with an amount of 95,000€ (VAT not included) and deadlines of 9 days for drafting the project and 17 days for the execution of the works.
Since the Consortium purchased the old Janer Shooting Range from the Ministry of Defense on March 6, it has worked intensely to expedite the procedures and proceed with the demolition and this represents another important step since the delegate of the Free Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the Mayor of San Fernando, José Loaiza, made the commitment to carry out the action at the end of 2012.
The Tiro Janer estate will allow the creation of a Commercial and Business Park with a maximum construction of approximately 60,000 square meters and which will include commercial space, a business center, hotel use, and even a bus stop station is not ruled out.
The action that will be carried out after the demolition stands out for its sustainability, since it will be marked by an occupation of the total surface area of no more than 40%, in addition to protecting the Asset of Cultural Interest located on that site, for which a reserve of more than 5,000 square meters is made, as well as another 3,000 meters that will be allocated to the electrical substation necessary to guarantee the supply, not only of the park, but of the entire city of San Fernando.
