The Costa Rican expert in logistics zones Héctor Vargas analyzed this morning the role of logistics platforms in the evolution of international trade, during a technical conference held in the Heracles Building of the Free Zone and which was chaired by the mayor of Cádiz, Teófila Martínez, the delegate of the Free Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the president of the Public Entity Ports of the State, José Llorca.
The event, attended by numerous representatives from different organizations and companies, was inaugurated by Jorge Ramos, who welcomed all attendees and explained that the Free Trade Zone could not be absent from an initiative as important as the southern European logistics platform, located in the province of Cádiz with vertices in the strategic nodes Cádiz, Jerez and Algeciras.
Ramos gave the floor to Teófila Martínez who gave a detailed presentation by the expert Héctor Vargas and was pleased by the presence of representatives from all sectors of society and the Cádiz business community. In fact, the mayor highlighted the importance of this event, whose primary objective was to convey to Cádiz society the importance of having a logistics platform for the strategic economic activity of the province.
The Costa Rican expert spoke about the global logistics configuration, with its growth expectations, the design of logistics routes, strategic infrastructure, logistics platforms and multimodal trade centers, highlighting the importance of international positioning as a strategy to be clear about where to direct efforts.
Vargas also highlighted in his speech the strategic and appropriate position, in addition to the experience of Cádiz as a base for carrying out logistics operations from Latin America to Europe.
The Costa Rican, with more than 30 years of professional experience in business development and foreign trade issues in Latin America, Europe and Asia, visited the delegate of the Free Zone on Monday to exchange impressions and establish contacts with a view to strengthening the Free Zone as a Fiscal Area and promoting foreign trade activities as a fundamental interlocutor of the Southern European logistics platform.
In the biography of Héctor Vargas it is worth noting that he is honorary president of the Free Zone Committee of the Americas since 2009, a consultant to the IDB/INTAL on Free Zone projects and foreign trade in Latin America and an advisor to Industrial Parks of Free Zones in Latin America , Spain and Africa. Likewise, he has been a consultant for the city of Laredo (United States) on issues of international positioning and development of the logistics platform.
The technical day, which lasted all morning, was closed by the president of the State Ports Public Entity, who was satisfied and thanked for the wide level of participation.
