The State delegate in the Free Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, received at the Consortium's Headquarters the mayor of Los Barrios, Jorge Romero, and his first deputy mayor, David Gil, in a meeting in which they exchanged impressions on lines of collaboration between both institutions with the fundamental objective of signing a future agreement and exploring the business initiatives that could be developed in that municipality, to which the Free Zone would provide its financial and management.
Another point discussed at the meeting was the agreement to maintain a series of contacts with the business community of Los Barrios so that, in view of upcoming calls for European Funds (Feder, Reindus, etc.), the execution of business ideas contributed by entrepreneurs could be assumed either directly by the Consortium or shared by it.
Ramos and Romero also agreed to maintain and deepen contacts and meetings between both institutions to achieve greater implementation of the Free Trade Zone in Los Barrios, a municipality with great projection both in the province of Cádiz and in Andalusia.
The Cádiz Institution has already been established in Los Barrios since 2003 when, in collaboration with the City Council, the Marismas de Palmones Business and Technology Park was launched, which sits on an area of 312,000 square meters. In this business park, the Consortium has warehouses of different sizes and plots in a strategic space that has the emblematic Towers of Hercules and the Azabache Building.
