The Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium has put out to tender the works contract for the Basic Project and Execution Project of the new Administrative Building of Algeciras. The announcement of the tender, with all the information regarding it, has been published since Friday the 16th in the Contractor's Profile of this Web page and on the same day it was sent to the Official State Gazette (BOE), which published it on Tuesday, November 20. Furthermore, the announcement was inserted in the pages of the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) on Thursday the 15th.
The deadline for submitting offers will remain open until 2:00 p.m. on December 26 and the bidding budget for this work is 7,816,992.41€ VAT not included and the execution period is one year.
The work, which is put out to tender with a mixed contract with the purchase and sale of property owned by the Consortium or, where appropriate, provision of guarantee through bank guarantee, is co-financed with European funds and also has a Reindustrialization aid loan of 8 million euros, 100% of the request made by the Consortium for its execution.
The project, which is built on a municipally owned plot of 4,000 square meters located on Juan Pérez Arriete Avenue next to the Algeciras Chamber of Commerce, includes the construction of a modern Business Center of 8,445.59 square meters, which will include a parking lot with capacity for 80 vehicles and more than 5,000 square meters of offices for entrepreneurs.
The good reception that the Almanzor Business Center has had, which Zona Franca has managed since 2004 in the La Menacha Industrial Estate, with an occupancy of more than 90%, motivated the need to launch a project with similar characteristics in the heart of the city, next to the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce building to meet the needs of the business fabric of Algeciras and the Region.
Background
This new Business Center is a clear example of the need for collaboration between institutions to promote the business community and, therefore, employment in the province. Specifically, on April 23, the State delegate in the Free Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos Aznar, presented the project for the new building to the mayor of Algeciras, Jose Ignacio Landaluce, highlighting already then the close collaboration between the Free Zone and the Algeciras City Council.
"Algeciras is an example of the provincial vocation of the Free Trade Zone, from the perspective of the actions carried out in recent years such as the Business Center that is in Menacha and the SDA company, dedicated to archives; now we come to finish this project that the city needs to achieve what I call a backbone of entrepreneurs in the Paseo de la Cornisa of Algeciras and that integrates magnificently into the style of vanguard next to the Chamber of Commerce building,” declared Ramos.
