This morning, the State delegate in the Cádiz Free Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos, visited the mayor of San Fernando, José Loaiza, to convey the agreement of the Executive Committee held last week and by which the Consortium delegate is empowered to sign an agreement with the Ministry of Defense for the acquisition of the site of the old Tiro Janer barracks.
Both parties have agreed on the good agreement to unblock an issue that had not been resolved for many years, having done so in a record time of 6 months and under very advantageous conditions, which involve the acquisition of the land for practically half the amount that was required years ago.
In fact, the property that the Consortium acquires for 6.7 million euros will allow the creation of a Commercial and Business Park with a maximum construction of approximately 60,000 square meters and which will include commercial space, a business center, hotel use, and even a bus stop station is not ruled out.
Ramos has highlighted the sustainability of the action that is intended to be carried out and that will be marked by an occupation of the total surface area of no more than 40%, in addition to protecting the Asset of Cultural Interest located on that site, for which a reserve of more than 5,000 square meters is being made, as well as another 3,000 meters that will be allocated to the electrical substation necessary to guarantee the supply, not only of the park, but of the entire city of San Fernando.
The delegate has committed the Free Zone to present in the next 25 days a proposal for the planning of the land, so that it can be assumed and approved by the San Fernando City Council and begin the work of the Special Plan that is necessary for the urban development of this area and that, if approved by the competent institutions in this matter –City Council and Junta de Andalucía - will allow urbanization work to begin even at the end of next year.
