The services building of the Interior Precinct of the Free Zone, at 80% of its execution

The project for the services building and relocation warehouses is already a reality today. In this month of July, the property is 80 percent complete, lacking exterior coatings, carpentry and painting, so it is expected that the execution deadline will be met and that it will be completed in September. In total, there will be 15 months of works that will form a modern six-story high building, intended to be a business and company center, and a set of 17 warehouses, all with a mezzanine, which will mostly be used to relocate the companies of the outer industrial estate while the transformation planned in the PGOU by the Joint Office for the Attraction of Investments between the Free Trade Zone and the City Council (OPEX) is carried out.

The work was awarded in June 2011 to Corsan-Corviam Construction for an amount of 10,075,262 euros (VAT not included) through a mixed contract by which the construction company kept some of the spaces. In addition to private initiative, the cost of the project has been co-financed with FEDER Funds within the framework of the 2007-2013 actions, which is why the Consortium plans to name the property as “Europe Building”. In addition to this building and the warehouses, the contract for the work included the redevelopment of the area, which has meant cleaning up the back of the Interior Enclosure –Puntales neighborhood area, as well as improvements in certain sewage deficiencies.

Once the building is completed, the Free Trade Zone will have an important location in its Interior Area with a total of 6,449 m2 for offices distributed on the ground, first, second, third, fourth, attic and castle floors and a total of 3,462.92 m2. of industrial land distributed among the aforementioned 17 warehouses.

Part of the office area, specifically the third and fourth floors, will be used to house a business center similar to those that Zona Franca already has in Cádiz –in the Heracles building–; in El Puerto –in the Las Salinas building–; and in Algeciras –in the Almanzor building– and that have been very well received by entrepreneurs.

This new business center that Zona Franca is going to open in the “Europa” building” It is part of a series of future business centers that the Consortium plans to open in Algeciras, Jerez, Chiclana and Arcos, all co-financed with FEDER Funds and which have the objective of meeting the needs of the business fabric of said municipalities, providing it with modern facilities and multiple services at very competitive prices.
